Faith and the confession of its elements are closely bound together, and that is why Paul writes, as we have already noted in an earlier part, that “with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
And so, through faith of the heart and confession of the mouth, that comes to pass of which the apostle Peter writes: “…who according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ…”
What is written above speaks of the sweet moment of new birth, when the old person dies and the new takes their place. By the work of the Holy Spirit a person’s spirit is born again, and through this born-again spirit they are able to have fellowship with God.
Through the new birth a person is in Christ and Christ is in them. They have been baptized into Christ Jesus, and as evidence of this they go on in their walk of faith in the way treated in part four.
